Absolut Icebar, London is as exactly as its name suggests—a bar, completely made of ice, including the ice cube drink goblets. Icebar is located on Heddon St. in the old British monarchy wine vaults off Regent Street between Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus. It’s made of water from the Torne River, applauded for its purity, in Sweden. The bar is the UK’s only permanent ice bar, and is kept frozen at 5 degrees below zero year round. It undergoes a re-design once a year. Redecorating literally consists of melting the interior and re-freezing the walls, tables, chairs and even the glass cocktail goblets according to new themes.
About the Current Theme:
The latest Icebar theme taps into the aquatic underworld for inspiration. A series of underwater ice stamps, lights, and other effects give guests the impression that they are underwater. Lighting installations mimic underwater light reflections, and footage of fish, jellyfish and other sea creatures are projected on the walls. A large periscope allows visitors feel as though they’re in a submarine, while bartenders dressed in submariner attire serve drinks specifically blended to keep with the theme.

What the Cost of a Ticket Covers:
Tickets are for a 40 minute session and include gloves and a thermal cape. You also get a personal ice glass with your choice of Absolut Vodka or fruit juice cocktail. Vodka cocktail refills are £6 and non-alcoholic refills are £3. A replacement ice glass costs £4.
What to Wear: You can wear anything to Ice Bar. I’d suggest warmer clothes to stay warm, but anything is fine. You’ll receive a huge thermal blue cape lined with white fur and string through thermal mits that cover your hands. Don’t worry about putting it on. An Ice Bar employee will actually toss the cape right over your head, pre-entry. Leather boots are a good shoe choice, but flats and heels are fine too if you don’t mind cold toes.
Drinks Menu: All drinks have a unique name and most are blends of Absolut vodkas with fruit juices. For a menu, click here.
Quick Tip:. I’d suggest going with a big group because it’s a small, crowded atmosphere. We went for a friend’s birthday so there was a huge group of us girls, probably about ten or so, and that was the perfect number.
