The best part of working for Outside magazine? Working with dozens of other staffers who also enjoy being outside. Imagine that. On Sunday afternoon, a group of us drove up to Abiquiu Lake to test swimsuits and monkey around on the trails. After hauling it over a quarter mile through choppy waves to an island, the wind picked up. Drastically. Being the resourceful outdoorsy type, we opted to build a driftwood raft. (Just kidding). But we did flag down a speed boat using scuba fins and scored a lift back to shore. Chances are good our next excursion will probably involve a mountain.
